![]() BAR MEMBERSHIPS & LEGAL ASSOCIATIONS I am admitted to practice in California and before the United States District Court, Eastern District of California. I am an active member of the Volunteer Legal Services Program of Northern California (VLSP), which provides pro bono legal services to needy persons in the Sacramento area. In 2002, I served as staff attorney at the Meadowview Family Law Legal Clinic, a special (grant funded) legal program sponsored by VLSP and the Sacramento County Superior Court to assist indigent clients in the Sacramento area. Since 2002, I have also served as a member of the court appointed minor's counsel panel in Sacramento County. I'm also a member of the American Bar Association and Sacramento County Bar Association. As an ABA member, I belong to the Family Law, General & Solo Practice and Law Practice Management Sections. In the Sacramento County Bar Association, I am an active member of Family Law, Child's Counsel, and Sacramento Lawyers Technology Users Group (SLUG) sections. In 2003, I was elected Chair of the Sacramento County Bar's SLUG section and served in this capacity through 2005. SLUG provides a forum for the discussion and study of issues relating to the use of technology by lawyers and in law practice. Since 2004 I have also served as an certified arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau's "Autoline" program. This nationwide program helps resolve warranty disputes between consumers and automobile manufacturers. EDUCATION I'm a graduate of McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento (J.D., 1995). McGeorge is affiliated with The University of the Pacific, the first chartered university in California. McGeorge enjoys an long-established regional reputation for excellence. At McGeorge, I worked as a research assistant for Intellectual Property Professor Jed Scully. In addition, I represented numerous indigent clients in family law and bankruptcy matters at the school's legal clinic. I participated on McGeorge's Technology Committee and served as the System Operator of the school's bulletin board system in the days before the Internet become popular. I was an active member of the Public Legal Services Society and Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. As an undergraduate, I attended the University of Arizona where I majored in economics and political science (B.A., 1988). I performed economics research at Arizona for Professor Stanley Reynolds and was a winner in the annual Freshman Essay Contest. PUBLICATIONS
